Down With Love

Oct26 2003 - Fancy a love comedy ala Austin Powers? Down With Love is just that, but with a li'l twist to the tale.

Set in the 1950s, Barbara Novak played by Renee Zellewegger( Bridget Jones's Diary, Jerry Mcguire) takes New York by storm. With a book about how women can be equal to men in all aspects including sex-life and career, many house-wifes are job-seeking and the tables have turned on men.

In steps one of the victims of this new fad, Catcher Block played by Evan McGregor(Moulin Rouge). Star journalist for a renowned man's magazine, Block plots to unveil and bring down Barbara Novak. Sounds simple?

This movie proves to be entertaining, the telephone conversation is especially provocating, and the crazy jazz band just keeps on playing!

Also, stay back for the credits, and get entertained with a number by Block and Novak, House of Love. I guess past experiences in Moulin Rouge and Chicago proved useful.

Watch out for...

  • Block's apartment ala James Bond
  • cameo by Tony Randall
  • the costumes! oh behave... :P

... and how come guys don't cook to seduce girls these days? :{

Rating: 6 / 10
