Hip-Hop Honey
July 4 2004 - 'Her dream. Her terms.' Nice tagline for this movie, Honey. Hip-hop fans, this is one show you don't wanna miss! Kinda like Dirty Dancing ala hip-hop ;)
Jessica Alba of Dark Angel fame plays Honey Daniels whom grows up in the hood, trying to do good.
Works 2 jobs trying to make ends meet, and teaching hip-hop at the recreation center keeping homies to the beat.
Gets a break on tv, on wat else, hip-hop mtv!
But everything comes with a price, and boss tried to be 'nice'.
Alright, enough with the rhyming. I tend to have to remind myself dreams don’t just happen, you create them. This was what kept Honey goin and she just decided to get down and jiggy with it. Sorry, couldn't resist. I liked the final scene. *sniff* *sniff* It was so inspiring. Truly enjoyed every dance scene. Wouldn't mind watching it again.
Sit back, relax - I'm not a fan of Dark Angel so it was a surprise to see Alba fare well in her debut. Her dance moves were smooth and slick, she had the charm, she had the looks. A white woman trying to be black, some would say, something you don't see everyday, yet she pulled it off. Kudos!
Missy E Rocks! - Loved the role MissyElliot played, she was so funny, right till the end! Li'l Romeo did good too :) Couple others like Genuwine, Tweet, Jadakiss too glazed this show. Happenning!
Quotes
- Chaz(Mekhi Phifer): ...I found something that I truly love, that truly makes me happy. That's a million times better than something that makes you rich.
- Missy Elliott: [to limo driver] You big dummy! How the hell you don't know how to get to the BQE? Let me tell you something. If you make me miss my hook-up with miss Honey Daniels, I'm gonna barbeque your Big-Bird-looking, Men-In-Black-wannabe, driving Miss Daisy ass!
