Disney's The Wild

Apr 06 2006 - Two words, Super Lame. Have been appalled with disney's efforts since Finding Nemo which was the last good one. Where has all the creativity and originality gone?

If you've seen Dreamwork's Madagascar, it's the complete opposite. The assorted animals (lion, snake, squirrel, koala and giraffe) break from the zoo into the wild in a mission to rescue a lion cub.

Bring caramel popcorn! - Never intended to watch this movie, but tagged along for the ride. A bad ride, with no popcorn. :( Was hoping for a surprise or a glimmer of creativity which did surface, but then it was back to boredom.

"You can't sing, you can't dance.." - beginning to sound like American Idol judge, Simon Cowell. The song choice was atrocious, heck, Coldplay's Clock was featured! There aren't any catchy lines, save one from a squeaky talking koala toy which chants, "I'm so cuddly, I love you". Or something to that effect, lame.

Cameleons - the only point of creativity in The Wild. Even the star-studded cast of voices could not bring much life to this show.

Acquiring Pixar obviously didn't do Disney any good. I'm still looking forward to Pixar's Cars out in May! Face it, we can tell it's Pixar. All that fluff in texture doesn't help if you don't have a story.

I miss the good ol' Disney formula. Timeless songs, catchy phrases, originality, humour, you get kids excited, and 'overgrown' kids repeating the phrases after the movie like a broken down record! Where has all that gone?
