Body Challenge Week 1 - 10th June

June 10 2004 - My week has been total hell yet it just got worse. :-( Feeling down in the dumps and tired, still decided to keep to my aim of getting a customized exercise program today. So off to the gym I go!

AWOL TNG card! - I hate the school hols. The commuter trains are packed with people any freaking time of the day. As I made my way to gym, I was standing near to the door on the train (could've sworn it was a sardine can) and I was shoved as someone tried to get off the train. Was holding my Touch N Go (TNG, an electronic payment system) card, which happen to drop into the gap between the platform and the train! *sob sob* I was dumbfounded, staring at my card at the bottom of the underground train system.

Tired and blurr, took awhile to decide to get off at the next station and head back to the station where i dropped my card and lodge a report. Hopefully they would be able to retrieve it. I had a substantial amount of credit in it, though thankfully I didn't have pay a deposit for that particular card. Feeling even worse now, headed to gym and pleaded my case to the guard at my destination to let me exit the station without a ticket.

Sign of commitment - At gym, as soon as Yuki(my fitness instructor) wrote my name on the exercise card, I knew I was doomed to a routine for the next 12 weeks. Me and my short attention span, yup, that's gonna work. :P Good idea, Yuki decided to split my workout into 2 days.

  • Day 1 - Legs and Back & Lower Back.
  • Day 2 - Chest and Shoulders.
  • Everyday - Warm-up, Stretching, Crunches, Leg Raises, and Cardio for 20-30mins.

There are a number of various exercises for each body area. My target would be 2 sets of 15 reps for each. Only 2 sets, but "don't cheat! and do a full range of motion", said Yuki. "Yes, boss", I thought to myself sheepishly.

"Do one set today" - being the blurr person that I was, I forgot and did 2 sets. It's more tiring if you do each rep slowly. I was dead tired at the end. Wish I'd brought my swimsuit so I could go take a relaxing dip in the heated jacuzzi. Told you I'd have been having a hellish week. What more could go wrong?

Think Bali....
